Harrison Bergeron (Hairy-son Burgur-ron) ♥

1. Life in VN would be perfect if everyone were totally equal. Do you agree or disagree? Explain your answer in complete sentences.

I disagree because its sad to see people will bags of kilos on their necks, wear mask, and have a buzzer in their ears. People needs to have the right to be free, and different. If everyone was equal the economy won't improve or change. Viet Nam will always be a third-world country. People will be given less that they earn. For example, someone who owns a Prada shoe store their income will be very high, and is the other person is a beggar their income will be very low. It isn't fair for people who works their butts off and receive less than what they earned. Being equal doesn't mean it's for everyone.

2. You are designing a society in which everyone is equal. What are the laws?

The laws won't be very cruel. I will divide people into groups that they fit in. For example tall people will stay together, and smart people will too. I will give everything they need to live like water, shelter, and food. Some people will earn more than others, but because they worked harder for these things. For the people who won't do anything, they will receive the minimum i can give.

3. What would you do to help people who were less capable mentally, physically, or socially to "catch up"?

Well, i will give extra help to mental people because they are just less fortunate than other people. I feel like they need more help to progress in life because, they are different so people will treat them differently. But this will not happen in my country, metal people ill have brain surgeries to make them normal. Less capable physical people will be forced to exercise more that others, or have a surgery to make them normal. I will have a program for people who are not capable as others socially. They will meet new people, and become FRIENDS.

4. What problems can you foresee that might come in a society with laws that force "equality for all"? How would you handle those problems?

For someone like Harrison Bergeron, i will have a court day for him to have the right to speak and share his ideas. But i don't like the idea of "equality for all" because diversity is important. Then again i will divide everyone into groups to be fair and equal. The people will have to live will that god gave them. The ugly people will have their face covered, because who wants to see ugly people. NO ONE!

5. Do you believe that total equality is possible, or would human nature make sure that some people would eventually dominate others?

I think it is natural to dominate people. I alway want to strive to be the best because thats what everyone wants. I think equality is not possible because we were born to be the best. Whats the point of grades and test if everyone is going to get the same grade, everyone studying for the same amount of time. Life wouldn't be fun and unpredictable.  Its normal to be competitive.

6. In what situations have you felt similarly to any of the characters? What persons, places, or ideas from your own experience came to mind while you were reading the story? Try to list at least two examples.

Once i have felt like George because he wants to do something but knows he can't afford the consequences. I wanted to be in the talent show but i have stage fright. I am scared that i will not be able to perform at the last minute, and make it hard for everyone to preform.
I learnt if you really believe in something so much you should give it all you got. Knowing you could have your last breathe when your at the market, or knowing this idea is all i live for. Either all in or all out. I also learnt that the ballerinas were confident in themselves even though some were wearing pounds of their necks, some were wearing masks, and some were wearing buzzers. They didn't care, they liked to dance more than anything. Most important they were confident in themselves. Which made me confident, and should go all in and be confident in myself. I will try out for the Talent Show. Wish Me Luck.
